Moms’ Night Out {MNO} Ideas

Do you need a night out with just the girls, but don’t want to just gather at a local bar? Here are some ideas that are sure to spice things up and make for a fun Moms’ Night Out {MNO}. Some of these require a little advance planning, while others you can do spontaneously, enjoy!

  1. Catch a movie. Fairfield County offers lots of theaters and showtimes, so you should be able to find something that everyone agrees on. We don’t have any luxury movie theaters in Fairfield County yet, but if you are looking for a unique experience, check out the Prospector Theater in Ridgefield – they even have a restaurant, bar and cafe!
  2. Get crafty. You could paint and sip (such as Pinot’s Palette in Stamford, Painting with a Twist in Westport, or The Giggling Pig Art Studio in Shelton), make and paint ceramics and pottery (such as Art & Soul in New Canaan, Art on Fire in Wilton, or The Clay Date in Woodbridge), or create a custom idea and host it at Grandma Josie’s in Monroe. You could also host a craft night at home, like FCMB contributor LuCk’s, Make n’Mingle parties. If you want to splurge, Hotspot Glass in Fairfield lets you experience glassblowing.
  3. Learn a skill. Similar to getting crafty, you can attend an on-site cooking class (such as Aux Delices in Stamford, The Clarke Culinary Center in Norwalk, or host a cooking class in your own house (such as Emilie-Your French Chef). Another idea is a cake decorating class (such as Cakey Kathy). FCMB contributor Keira said her Moms Club hosts “Learn It” nights where everyone takes turns to teach skills or crafts, such as crocheting!
  4. Host a book club night. If you want to start one, read FCMB’s co-owner Michelle’s post. If you’re looking for book ideas, Goodreads has compiled an excellent list of the most popular book club books.
  5. Go bowling. Bowlmor Lanes in Norwalk has bowling, laser tag, an arcade, and food!
  6. Dessert night. FCMB contributor Keira hosted a dessert night that was s’mores themed. Everyone brings their favorite dessert based on the theme, and, of course, don’t forget the wine!
  7. Wine tasting. Check out your local winery (such as Jones Winery in Shelton, which also does cooking classes!) or host a wine tasting at your home. If you are more into brews, visit one of the local breweries such as Half Full Brewery in Stamford or Two Roads Brewing in Stratford.
  8. Spa night. Head out to your local salon or talk to your local salon or beautician about bringing the spa to your house! Have everyone sign up ahead of time for time slots for their service {manicure, pedicure, massage, facial}. Everyone can bring an appetizer, dessert, or wine to share!
  9. Check out events at local museums or zoos. A lot of museums or zoos host adult events, such as Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport or Stamford Museum & Nature Center in Stamford.
  10. Game night. Host a game night or trivia night at your house. Everyone can bring an appetizer, dessert, or wine to share, plus their favorite game, such as Bunco or Cards Against Humanity.
