Eco Chic :: Be Well, Be Beautiful

This post was sponsored by Eco Chic Salon Spa & Blow Dry Bar, but the opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting our sponsors.

You can, you should, and if you’re brave enough to start, you will. – Stephen King

From the moment you walk in the door to Eco Chic Salon Spa & Blow Dry Bar, owner, Michele Maestri-Murphy works to detox your mind, body, and spirit of toxins. Upon arrival each guest is invited to draw a quote to start the process. (The above was my quote). She has a pure love for people and enjoys making others feel happy. As a stylist who has always called Fairfield County her home, Michele is a mom of four who models hard work, passion and a vision. “When I began my career, I became concerned with the toxins in the beauty world. So I made it my mission to find cleaner products to do the same job.” Michele has worked with chemists in Europe to find such products and has even started her own product line.

In today’s society we are bombarded with toxins more than ever before, and it’s hard for our organs to detox fast enough. Why not take advantage of less toxic hair and beauty care without compromising trend and style? In April Michele’s vision found a home at 12 Wilton Center. Eco Chic uses products that are biodegradable and contain botanically based herbal formulas with food grade ingredients. Michele and her stylists are changing the landscape of beauty. They are cruelty free, gluten free, non GMO and nonsynthetic. Recently I had the opportunity to have a moms’ night out with the Fairfield County Moms Blog contributor team to try out some of these amazing products and services. My hair was treated to an egg and honey “rejuvenating” mask. Trust me, after a summer of beach/pool/outdoor living, it was in dire need of some love. The mask smelled heavenly and the massage was so good my toes were curling! Next I was able to enjoy a Beautycounter charcoal mask, while my hair mask did its work.

By the time my masks were ready to be removed, I could feel the knots in my back starting to unwind. To finish the experience, my hair was blown out. I’ve had a few blow outs over the recent years, and typically your hair gets lacquered with hairspray. YUCK! Not at Eco Chic. I was “blown away” with how Michele was able to achieve the same end result with no added product. That alone was a testament to the fact that we don’t need the toxins we are bombarded with on a daily basis. (For those of you who are wondering, my day after hair was just as good, if not better than when I’ve gotten a traditional blowout).

Michele and her salon are definitely setting a high bar for the industry. They even offer USDA organic Henna, which many people don’t realize can cover gray and comes in a variety of shades. Do yourself a favor and check them out! Eco Chic Salon is now offering an August Back-to-School Special, where children under 12 can get their hair cut for $15 and teen girls haircuts are $25. While Mom waits, she can get a blowdry and demineralizing treatment for just $40.
