Thanks for Coming {Party Favors}

0

I LOVE throwing my parties. It’s my jam. One of my favorite parts of planning the party is the FAVORS! What kid doesn’t love leaving a party with something in hand? A favor makes the fact that the party is over and it’s time to leave a little easier to accept. It’s also a great way for the guest of honor and their parents to say thank you and show their appreciation to all their guests for celebrating with them.

I know, some of you may be saying that favors aren’t necessary and you could do without adding more tiny junk to your house. That’s why I want to give you some ideas for favors that will be loved by all and don’t add to the clutter in your house! Some favor ideas may lend itself easier to certain themes. I find the best way to customize your favors is to pick something that easily goes along with your theme. Having a farm party? Hand out farm-themed Golden books! Having an art party? Hand out coloring books and crayons! Having a spa party? Hand out spa robes!

Here are some of my favorite unique and practical party favor ideas that will be appreciated by both kids and parents:

  • Books: Find a book that goes along with your theme. You can books such as easy readers or Golden Books starting at around $3 each, making this one an educational and potentially inexpensive favor, depending on your price point. This could easily be tailored to the age range of guests.
  • Art Supplies: Art supplies are great because they are consumable and I haven’t met a kid that doesn’t like art. Coloring books that go along with your theme {Michael’s always has a ton by the checkout counter for $1}, packs of crayons, colored pencils, or tempura paint sticks, paint palette, sketch pad, Grab and Go Play packs {also always by the Michael’s checkout counter for $1} the list could go on and on. One of my favorite art supply favors is a tub of Play-Doh and a cookie cutter.
  • Bubbles: This one is a classic. Consumable and loved by kids of all ages. These bubble wands make a fun and colorful favor {you can usually find these at stores for $1 each in certain times of the year}.
  • Clothing: Depending on your theme, a clothing item that the kids can wear during the party may be a great idea! Some ideas are t-shirts, capes, masks, art smocks, baking aprons, sock, slippers, flip flops, spa robes, headbands, hats, sunglasses, and jewelry.
  • Beauty Products: A consumable favorite for an older age group. Ideas here include bath bombs, chapstick, nail polish, loofa, washcloth or towel.
  • Food: The options are endless for food favors. You can go with a homemade style food like cupcakes or cookies or prepackaged items like goldfish or fruit snacks. You could even have goodie bags and guests choose a few treats from a table {think candy bar}. If you pick food as your favor, just make sure to be sensitive of any allergies of your guests. Related to food but without the worry of allergies, water bottles are another great option.
