Teaching Peace and Kindness

0

Today is the day that our nation celebrates Martin Luther King Jr. As a teacher, it is made even more special because it’s an added day that I can be home with my kids. In school, many children have completed activities to acknowledge MLK. Just because today is a day off from school, it doesn’t mean the learning has to stop. Even though my oldest child is just shy of turning 3, I plan on using this day off as a learning experience. Today is a great opportunity to teach our children about peace and kindness. There are tons of great books to read and activities to be done at home with your children, as well as several local Fairfield County events that spread MLK’s message.
