Summer…

kids 2Yay! Schools out for summmer! Yay? I mean OMG what am I going to do all day long?! My kids are still young, 3 years old and 19 months, but I just started my 3 year old in a preschool program 2 days a week this past March, which just ended, and now I have to think of how I am going to entertain her and her brother for the summer! I don’t want any of us to get bored! I do have my backyard prepped and ready for the kids to play hard. You can too, by hitting up the local Fairfield County towns tag sale sites and getting some of the big ticket items for a fraction of the price! I picked up a great little play house for next to nothing! I feel like if I have enough climbing, splashing, and driving things to play with, they will have fun while burning some energy.

We are doing 3 mornings a week until she’s able to build her confidence up a little. I hope both of our anxieties will be calmed by the end of the summer.

I also have my aquarium and children’s museum passes on standby! I love the benefits of memberships over just paying as you go because the membership pays for itself in a couple of trips. If you pack a few snacks or even a lunch you can make a morning out of it! There are great spots to sit and chill out right outside of each location. These places make the perfect spot to meet friends or classmates to have a fun little play date.

kids burgersDid you know there are a few splash pads around that are FREE. There is one right outside of the children’s museum in Norwalk that is completely free to enter and use! There is going to be another opening up at the Norwalk beach which is also free to use with a beach pass!

One of my absolute favorite things to do in the summer is to have dinners at the beach! Does this just scream summer to you? I usually pick up a quick dinner or if I’m Mom of the Year I will prepare an easy dinner to pack up and bring. Also, make sure you check your local towns events because there are nights of music, movies under the stars, fairs, festivals, seasonal fruit picking at the local farms, and so much more!

Ahh! Maybe there’s nothing to worry about. There seems to be a lot going on, it’s just a matter of organizing all of these things in my calendar!

What are you planning to do this summer to keep the kids busy?

I am a stay at home mom to my daughter Penny and son Grady who will be 2 in November. My husband and I were both born and raised in Norwalk, had the most magical wedding at the Maritime Aquarium, and currently reside in, wait for it, Norwalk!! When the kids are napping my “me time” is focused on my direct sales business, Younique. I love sharing make up with women, giving them confidence and making them feel beautiful! Being able to stay connected to adults outside of the normal day to day errands of running to Stew’s or finding a new playground to keep my children entertained is an added bonus too!
