Summer Cocktails and Mocktails

One of the hardest things about being pregnant during the summer months is not being able to indulge in a summer cocktail or two.  Now, I am not a big drinker by any means {my usual go-to drink is seltzer with a splash of cranberry juice and a lime}, but nothing says summer like sipping a yummy cocktail or refreshing summer ale.  So even though I can’t indulge at the bar this summer,  here are some great suggestions for tasty summer libations and drinks sans alcohol for you to enjoy in the last few weeks of summer!

Sangria – Delicious and refreshing, check out this recipe from our sister site, Houston Moms Blog, for the perfect white wine sangria

Margarita – My husband LOVES a good margarita (he’s even ordered margaritas at Chinese restaurants!).  Lucky for us, we live mere minutes from Bartaco in Westport, winner of Best of the Gold Coast’s Margarita for 2014.  Summer nights out on the deck overlooking the Saugatuck River?  Yes please!

Mojito – Simple and minty, mojitos make me think of breezy beaches.  This simple mojito recipe will take you straight to a tropical shore.

Strawberry Lemonade – For those who want a delicious treat without the booze, try this strawberry lemonade – you won’t be disappointed!

Peach Ice Tea – I love a good iced tea with a little flavor (have you tried Starbucks new line of shaken iced teas?) so why not try to make my own?  This recipe from The Naptime Chef has just three ingredients and is full of delicious flavor.

What’s your favorite summer drink?

Great suggestions! I’m addicted to the blackberry mojito tea lemonade from Starbucks! I also plan to try that mojito recipe! Thanks for sharing!
