Study Proves Moms Are Superheroes

0

You’ve heard it before. Moms are superheroes. Well, now there is actually a study that proves it. A group of researchers at the University of Connecticut have actually proved that moms are, in fact, superheroes. We could have told them that. The study of 3,000 Fairfield County moms with kids between the ages of 0 and 17 years old found that the average mother performs extraordinary or superhuman feats on a daily basis. The study also concluded that moms are exceptionally skillful, especially compared to their male counterparts. The researchers were skeptical, because superheroes are thought to be fiction, but their observations are undeniable.

Some of the extraordinary or superhuman feats that the study observed in moms to evidence the superhero behavior include:

  • Magically curing boo-boos
  • Giving birth to another human being
  • Carrying the entire weight of an entire family on her shoulders
  • Bringing a child to tears in an instant by seemingly simple tasks, such as giving them a broken cereal bar or asking them to put shoes on
  • Carrying a seemingly Mary Poppins bag, which pulls out endless snacks and entertainment {was Mary Poppins a superhero, too?}
  • Ready to catch vomit in her hands at any given moment
  • Performing an obscene number of tasks at one time
  • Possessing an endless amount of love for children that whine all day
  • Keen intuition if something is wrong with her child

Well, there you have it, ladies. The list of observations goes on for pages and pages, but we think you get the picture. Research has proved that we’re superheroes. I’m sure all of our capes will be delivered any day now, so we better start thinking about what our superhero names will be!

Happy April Fool’s Day!

Let’s be real, we don’t need a study to prove what we already know – moms ARE superheroes!
