playing aroundCan you believe that summer is slowly coming to a close? We can’t either! We just don’t want the fun to end. Especially since we had such a fantastic time Playing Around Fairfield County with so many of our readers in part of our third annual summer play date series! We had the opportunity to explore local spots that are perfect for taking classes, hosting birthday parties, or just setting up your own play dates with other mom friends. Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for this series. It was so fun to get to meet so many new local moms with kiddos all a similar age! Here is a recap of all our fun!

Summer Series Play Date #1 :: Playing Around With Pump It Up of Norwalk

This was the perfect spot to kick off our summer play date fun! We had a blast with Pump It Up of Norwalk. As everyone arrived we were greeted by the friendliest staff and invited to enter the first of two enormous bounce house arenas. The kiddies took off to run, jump, climb, slide, and bounce on the many inflatables. Not only were there inflatables, but huge building blocks, an air hockey table, basket ball hoops, riding toys, and more to add to the fun. Just to make sure no one got bored the kids got to explore a second arena with even more fun and inflatables. There was great music and a large staff was there to watch and make sure everyone was safe and having fun. The play date ended with lots of juice, cheese doodles, and pizza for both the kids and parents. WIN!

Make sure to check out this super fun spot! It’s perfect for your child’s next birthday party, or give them a call to book your very own group event! Mention Fairfield County Moms Blog and save $29 off any Deluxe or Ultimate parties held by Labor Day. And don’t forget to check their calendar for open jump times and special events.

pump it upSummer Series Play Date #2 :: Playing Around With Ole Soccer

This play date literally kicked off with a ton of soccer balls on Ole Soccer’s indoor turf arena. This sold out event (we even had a wait list!) was so much fun! The kids got to run around this fully enclosed area with clear glass walls so parents can view from the outside on comfy chairs and benches. The Ole coaches gathered all the little soccer players together and went over a few basic rules. Then the fun really started when they began practicing drills. Children were encouraged to use their imaginations and play like different animals (going slow like a turtle or fast like a lion) and they even pretended to be pirates going through different obstacles. The kids all had a blast following along.

Next we entered the most amazingly clean indoor jungle gym where children could climb, jump and slide through all of the equipment. Even better, parents could sit along the side with a great view of everything going on inside. And the fun didn’t end without chowing down on some delicious pizza and ice cream cups.

Not only did this make the perfect play date, it would make the best birthday party too! And Ole Soccer offers classes starting at age 2. You can also drop in any time to play in the Jungle Gym. Just tell them your friends at Fairfield County Moms Blog sent you!

Ole SoccerSummer Series Play Date #3 :: Playing Around With FCMB

Our contributor team came out to play at Waveny Park in New Canaan. However, due to some on again, off again showers, we were lucky to move the play date indoors thanks to contributor Erika who now lives around the corner. The goal of this play date was to make new friends and have some good old fashioned summer fun. The kiddos were able to make beaded bracelets, hula hoop, skip jump, blow bubbles, swing, and of course run around! All the simple things! We were even able to have a fun picnic lunch thanks to our friends at Palmer’s Bakery in Darien. They provided us a tray of mini sandwiches with everything from PB&J, to turkey and cheese, and more. We also enjoyed the most beautifully displayed rainbow fruit skewers, and sugar cookies in the shape of lemonade and watermelon.

If you are planning a backyard BBQ, picnic, or other fun event in the future make sure to call Palmer’s to meet your catering needs. If you are having a birthday party order a birthday cake from Palmer’s Bakery and get 1 dozen free classic vanilla cake pops in coordinating colors with the mention of Fairfield County Moms Blog. (Cake value must be over $50. Offer valid until August 31st 2017. Order must be placed at least 1 week in advance).

playing aroundSummer Series Play Date #4 :: Playing Around with My Gym Fairfield

We had a great time at My Gym Fairfield’s indoor play space. It was great fun for everyone! Kids tumbled around the gym, sang songs, created a car wash with lots of bubbles, and even zip-lined across the gym! Moms had just as much fun chasing their little ones around and meeting new friends. There was even a special section designated for the little crawlers to play and explore. Palmer’s Darien was there again to provide the most adorable cupcakes and cake pops with Milo the My Gym monkey on them! Not only were they absolutely adorable they tasted delicious too! Each child also went home with a sample of Kwik Stix, solid tempera paint in stick form that dry in 90 seconds.

Make sure to visit our friends at My Gym Fairfield soon. Your first class is FREE! If you enroll in a class and mention Fairfield County Moms Blog, My Gym will pay the $75 membership fee for you! And again, make sure to call Palmer’s Bakery for your next event! (See promotion above!)
