No Kids Allowed!

no kidsIt’s awful but REAL to admit that time can go by and my husband and I realize we haven’t been out alone in months! It is so important to get date nights on the calendar and stay connected. Both of our days are so jam-packed; with his job and tutoring on the side, and me keeping the kids entertained and happy, and focusing on growing my business. The list just goes on and on.

Getting out once you have kids is a challenge, I get it, so my husband and I like to get the most out of a single night! One of our most favorite things to do is have several mini dates in one evening! How you ask? Easy! I will take you through our last one so you can get the idea.

We dropped both kids off at my parents house and headed down to SONO. If you are not local, pick any town that has several restaurants within walking distance from one another! I love the ambiance of the area, the close proximity of a lot of amazing restaurants, doors open in the summer, eating on the street, and the holiday lights wrapped around the trees in winter. I’m itching to get a class of wine right now just typing this!

Don’t get comfy though! Next, we moved on to The Spread! There are way too many delicious appetizers to pick just one but a glass of Malbec and an order of the most amazing flat bread or maybe the risotto balls or the brussel sprouts.  Ahhh!! Why does it all have to be so delicious?!  I’m drooling.

I love how changing locations can completely change the mood and conversation between my husband and I! Different people, different wait staff, different menu, it feels like a new night at each new restaurant we visit.  And if we MUST have dessert, I mean twist my arm, the gigantic ice-cream sandwich at Washington Prime is the cherry on top of this date night.

Find a couple of different restaurants where you live and try this for your next night out! It totally beats the typical dinner and a movie 😉

What are your favorite date night plans?

I am a stay at home mom to my daughter Penny and son Grady who will be 2 in November. My husband and I were both born and raised in Norwalk, had the most magical wedding at the Maritime Aquarium, and currently reside in, wait for it, Norwalk!! When the kids are napping my “me time” is focused on my direct sales business, Younique. I love sharing make up with women, giving them confidence and making them feel beautiful! Being able to stay connected to adults outside of the normal day to day errands of running to Stew’s or finding a new playground to keep my children entertained is an added bonus too!
