Moms Night Out :: Board & Brush Monroe

0

When the Fairfield County Moms Blog contributor team was offered the opportunity to try out Board & Brush, an amazing new studio in Monroe, we couldn’t say no. Wine and DIY projects? Count us in!

The studio is not your typical “paint and sip” canvas location. This is a place where you can make your own wood board, and boy are they gorgeous. As a completely DIY endeavor, there are so many choices that we almost didn’t know where to begin. One of the great things about this place is that everyone can be working on a different piece at the same time. No more choosing one piece that is agreed upon. With so many choices, there is something for everyone.

When we arrived, we had some unfinished wood on our table along with our chosen stencil and some screws. At first, we were a little intimidated by the fact that we had to actually use power tools! Not to worry, as the staff is so amazing that we were immediately comfortable with the process. Every couple of minutes, the staff would walk us through the next steps and come around to make sure we were all on the right track!

We had a cool little spot for all our food and drinks and we were able to bring wine as well. The best part about the experience is that each person had the ability to customize as much as possible. Everything from the amount of “distress” on the board to the staining and paint colors is entirely up to you! Lots of examples line the walls so that if you would like to see how a color combination might look on your board, you have your pick.

We were definitely satisfied with the finished product and there was lots of chatter about returning for another board-making experience. This is a place you could return to more than once whether it be to line your own walls or to make a gift for a friend or family member.
