Looking For Something To Do? – A List Of “Mommy and Me” Classes

mommy and me classesLiving with babies and toddlers can be overwhelming at times when you are constantly worried about feeding, naps, changing, and chasing them around. “Mommy/Daddy and Me” classes can be a great source of enrichment for the little ones and a great way for you to socialize. They also give you a reason to get out of the house and get a breath of fresh air!

kidville classesAfter my son D came home, he had a lot of appointments, so we were constantly running around. At around 7 months old, I decided to enroll him in a Music Together class. It was such a nice relief to get out and take him to something fun that he could just relax and enjoy, rather than a doctor or therapist visit. Then when H was ready I enrolled her in classes at Kidville, Music Together, and my husband took her swimming at the YMCA. This definitely created a nice schedule in our house and we looked forward to these activities with the kids. My husband and daughter also discovered a special activity to do together.

Our town library also became a wonderful place to visit and I’ve met some great friends from going to classes there.  Most libraries have free story time programs for babies and toddlers. They are such a great resource, please take a look at your local library’s children’s programs to see what they have to offer!

I’d love to share the other types of “Mommy/Daddy & Me” classes that are available because Fairfield County has so many to offer. Based on what you are interested in or what you might think your little one would like, there just may be something for you. Please take a look below to explore some of the local classes. If you find one that interests you, always reach out to that venue and see if you can take a trial class.

Can you attend these classes if you are just a seasonal renter in Westport? Do you have classes and support groups for mothers of multiples?

      Hi Gail,
I would imagine so, some may just have some summer sessions. You can always call and ask for a trial class as well. I believe there is a twin moms group at Willow Pediatrics, you might want to give them a call. And if you sign-up for a class ask about a twin discount, some locations give them. Music Together definitely does which is great! Also, quite a few of us who contribute to FCMB are twin moms as well, including myself. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!
      Thank you,
      Caroline
