Gells Belts :: Tie Your Look Together!

0

When Amy and Michelle, the co-owners of FCMB, approached me to do a sponsored post testing out products from a belt company, I was ecstatic. Why? Because I personally LOVE belts. They add interest to jeans and a plain shirt and really tie an outfit together. Here’s a look at the belts currently hanging in my closet:

Belts of various colors, patterns and styles.

I am also running into a problem with my four year old’s clothing. Half of his pants/shorts have those amazing elastic bands and buttons built inside the waist bands. Now that he’s getting into the boy’s section at stores <<sobbing>>, they aren’t as common. So, a belt would solve his problem also!

Luckily I had the chance to chat with Ashley Perkin, founder of Gells Belts (pronounced jellz), about her Southport-based company. Ashley started Gells along with her husband with the belief that you can operate a for-profit business with philanthropy at heart. She explained that Gells are, “belts that bring good & looks together!” These signature belts are simple, polished and classic. They come in six different colors that will pull together any look for you and your little ones.

As a mom herself, pregnant with boy #2, she knew that I would be interested in how easy-to-clean these heavyweight nylon belts are! (We had to test this out during lunch. The jelly wiped right off. Score!) They were also sturdy, stayed securely in place, and my 4 year old was able to take his off before bath time. DSC_1000

I wore my new belt to a work meeting and got quite a few compliments on it. I was also excited to explain the charity component of the company with my coworkers who are always looking for businesses with this “giving back” philosophy. 5% of each belt purchased will be donated to a partner charity. My purple belt helps the National Canine Cancer Foundation and my son’s navy one will benefit the Blue Ocean Society.DSC_0942

Gells also just launched an embroidery option and are finalizing the thread, font and style options. Ashley explained that they are expanding into making dog collars and leashes which I will certainly support as well.
