If the men in your life are anything like the men in my life, than you probably don’t have to worry too much about gifts for Father’s Day. My husband, just like my dad, would be happy with a home-cooked meal and a cold beer! But it’s always nice to give a little something to say thanks for all they do. Here are just a few ideas I’ve used over the years:
Best Dad Ever T-Shirt: I found a great t-shirt on Etsy.com last year, just by searching “Best Dad Ever.” I even found one for my dad that says, “Best. Grandpa. Ever.” There are a few different shops you can order from on Etsy, with different fonts. On average, the shirts cost about $20.
Baby Bike Seat: My husband enjoys riding his bike, so last year I bought a bike seat for our son and had it installed. They love going on bike rides together!
Shutterfly.com: I upload all of my digital pics to Shutterfly.com, and I love making gifts on the site. It couldn’t be easier. You can make a calendar, an iPhone case, a mousepad, or print a canvas of your favorite picture.
SUP gift certificate: Stand-Up Paddleboarding (or SUP’ing), is one of our favorite things to do, and there are a bunch of places to do it in Fairfield County! If your husband has never tried it, perhaps think about getting him a gift card! “Down Under,” which provides SUP rentals and lessons, has locations in Rowayton and Westport.
Magazine Subscription: I always find that people love to read magazines, but would never think of getting a subscription themselves. My husband loves when his Surfer magazine arrives every month!
Concert Tickets: The great thing about a good concert is that your man gets to hear his favorite band, AND score a date night with you! Win win.
IfOnly.com: I’ve never used this website, but I subscribe to their emails, and I am always tempted to splurge and buy something cool. You can buy golf lessons with a pro, get VIP concert tickets, or even buy an experience like playing guitar on-stage with a famous musician. But some of the price tags are extravagant.
Something handmade: Literally. If you have a baby or toddler, there is nothing cuter than their handprints! Once you put the paint on their hands, the biggest challenge is getting their prints to paper, and not on your walls or floors. You can put it on a canvas (easily purchased at Michael’s or an art store), or just put it on paper for a home-made card.
What are some of your favorite gifts to give on Father’s Day?
