Family Fall Fashion

0

The hot and humid days are finally giving way to cooler temps! And you know what that means… it’s time to switch out our wardrobes and embrace fall fashion. After a summer of fun (aka spending lots of money) my fashion allowance has been greatly hindered. But Fall fashion is the perfect time to search the depths of your closet and repurpose items you already own. From apple picking to hayrides, fall in New England is all about family togetherness. So, the mini fashionistas and I decided to put together some coordinated classic fall looks that the whole family could enjoy! And we only used clothes we already had!

Yellow is the new Orange

Yellow is definitely the hot color of the season. From bright sunshine yellow to lemony mustard yellows, all the shades have been appearing on the runway and in fashion magazines. Some people might say yellow is difficult to wear on certain skin tones but I have found that as long as the shade is not too neon it can to be uplifting and flattering! I picked up this yellow blouse from Loft last spring and it quickly became one of my faves. I love the puffy sleeves and whimsical nature of the polka dots. The girls’ dresses are hand-me-down pieces which makes them even more budget-friendly. I seriously don’t know how you could be in a bad mood wearing such a vibrant color. These outfits are perfect for a fall picnic or trip to the pumpkin patch.

Preppy Blue

You can never go wrong with a timeless preppy look! I bought this blue striped shirt dress for my best friend’s baby shower last spring. I love how all these looks can easily transition into fall with some leggings and booties. The silhouette is also flattering on many shapes.

Layer upon Layers

Fall fashion is all about the layers. Vests are a great way to add texture, warmth, and some fashion pizazz. These outfits are ideal for all sorts of family fall fun. I love how they coordinate but are not overly matchy and would look great in a family photo. When choosing outfits for a coordinated family pic I usually pick my outfit first and go from there. Because everyone knows that when mom feels good in her outfit it’s a better day for all.

Fall Florals

Who says you must put away the florals once the leaves start turning. This summer Old Navy came out with an awesome family line and I could not resist this adorable floral pattern for me and my girlies. This look is one of my favorites because I am wearing a sundress that I turned “fall” with a jean jacket and boots.

There you have it. Four fabulously fashionable fall outfits that you can wear to all your autumn events!
