I’m Kim and I am very excited to be a part of this incredible group of women. Thank you! I’m looking forward to getting to know you all and for you to get to know me, and what I do. Please feel free to reach out to me, anytime.

I have worked in the Residential Mortgage Financing industry for 18 years and have loved every second of it. I knew at a young age that helping people was my passion and now, I help my clients make their dream of homeownership a reality!

I was born and raised in Westchester, moved to CT when I was 20 years old, and now live in Wilton, CT with my husband, my adorable 12-year-old step-son, our puppy and 2 cats. I am the Vice President of Sales at GuardHill Financial Corp. and work as a Mortgage Loan Originator. GuardHill is a Boutique Residential Mortgage Bank, providing the best combination of rates and service, for more than 25 years.

I like to set myself apart from the rest by communicating throughout the process and trying my best to make the mortgage process as easy as possible for my clients. I only specialize in mortgages, which really does allow me and my team to focus solely on getting your loan approved and closed with ease.

GuardHill Financial Corp. is headquartered in NYC however, my team and I work here in Westport, CT at 18 Kings Highway North, so if you are considering a new home purchase, a refinance of your existing loan or if you just have questions on financing, call me anytime – I am always here to help.

The first tip I would like to share with you is on your credit. There are so many misconceptions, I thought it would be a good place to start.

Credit – This is a critical piece of the mortgage process and life in general…your credit means so much when buying not only a house, but a car, applying for a credit card, or even a personal line of credit.

10 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR CREDIT SCORES

  1. Check your scores – it’s always good to take a peek and see how your scores are – there are many free sites! Try Freecreditreport.com.
  2. Pay bills on time – not doing so could drop your score 100 points! One 30 day late fee can affect your score so much that you may not get approved for a mortgage.
  3. Keep your balances low on your credit cards – being close to your limit will decrease your score drastically.
  4. Don’t take out too many credit cards – stay away from 20% off department stores.
  5. On the flip side, always make sure you do have some credit cards – a few is a good thing for your credit.
  6. Do not close out your credit cards – use old cards here and there, make sure to pay them off but keep them open.
  7. Don’t ask for a higher credit limit on your credit cards! It may be tempting but try to avoid it.
  8. Beware of debt consolidation – to keep your score from dropping make sure your consolidation does not exceed 50% of the available credit on your new card.
  9.  If you think you want to pay off all of your cards at once, DO NOT! Keep them open and balances low – showing activity helps your credit.
  10. Use credit cards with high available limits – Don’t max out your credit cards, keep balances at 50% as a max.
