FC summer fairs and festivalsThere will be lot of fun going on this summer in Fairfield County – fairs and festivals for the family, for a date night or even a mom’s night’s out. Check out this long list of local Fairfield County summer fairs and festivals and make some plans!

JUNE

May 14-June 26

  • BARNUM FESTIVAL: The Barnum Festival is an annual celebration of PT Barnum and his imagination, with various activities from mid-May through June.

June 5

  • Westport Dog Festival : This event will be held at Winslow Dog Park from 10am – 4pm. There will be lots of kid-friendly activities and pet vendors; fun for the whole family, including your dog! The cost is $10 a person, $25 per family of 4.

June 8 – 12

June 10-11

  • LobsterFest 2016: The Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company will present the event at their main station on Friday, June 10, from 5-9pm, and Saturday, June 11, from 4-9pm. The meal includes a steak or lobster dinner with sides and a soda or bottle of water. The cost is $25 in advance, $27 at the door. Drinks and desserts will be available for additional purchase. Children’s dinners, with a hamburger or hot dog and all sides and soft drink, are $5. Tickets available at main station:18-20 Riverside Road; the Fire Marshal’s office, 3 Primrose Street (within Newtown Municipal Center); the office of The Newtown Bee, 5 Church Hill Road; and from all company members.

June 10-12

  • The Greek Experience Festival 2016: Assumption Greek Orthodox Church features mouthwatering traditional Greek food, Greek dancing, raffles, games, and other activities! This festival runs Friday  5pm-11pm, Saturday 12pm-11pm, and Sunday 12pm-9pm.

Jun 11-12

  • Fairfield Market on the Green: Located at Fairfield’s Town Hall, Saturday 10am-4pm and Sunday 10am-3pm, there will be crafters and vendors  offering their items for sale. You might find anything from furniture to jewelry to really good food.
  • Art at Ives Juried Fine Art & Crafts Show: Ives Concert Park on the Western Connecticut State University (43 Lake Avenue Ext. Danbury, CT), 10am-5pm. This event presents 76 artists working in ceramics, fiber, drawing, painting, digital art, photography, glass, metal work, mixed media, sculpture, wearable art, jewelry and wood. The event also features art demonstrations, food, live entertainment, and children’s shows. Rain or shine; $5 tickets and free admission for children under 16. 
  • 9th Annual Rhubarb Festival : White Silo Farm & Winery hosts the perfect festival for the person who loves rhubarb: Rhubarb cobbler, rhubarb compote, rhubarb ice cream, and more made with their farm-grown rhubarb. Taste while sipping some house wine, listen to live entertainment, and then take a tour of the winery; 12-5pm.

June 11

  • Celebration of Kindness: This is a free family event loaded with family activities geared towards teaching kids kindness. The Snack Shack will be open with live entertainment, but feel free to bring your own picnic at Treadwell Memorial Park, 3-7pm. 

June 12

  • 14th Annual Georgetown Day Festival: The day includes something for everyone: live music provided by local bands, international foods, a beer tent, children’s entertainment, and artisans and vendors selling an array of items,12-6pm.
  • Preserve New Fairfield’s 8th Annual Strawberry Festival Located at the New Fairfield Senior Center, 1-4pm. The festival offers much more than just shortcake; chocolate dipped strawberries for purchase, amazing raffle items, children’s activities such as face painting and music. The event will be held rain or shine.

June 17-19

  • Fairfield County Irish Festival: This festival celebrates Irish culture through music, dancing, traditional Irish sport, and everything else that is Irish. Fun for members of the whole family at Fairfield University.

June 18-19

  • 45th Annual Strawberry Festival, Craft and Fine Art Show: The Monroe Congregational Church hosts a festival that will blow you away with all of the homemade strawberry goodies. Plus there is an art show with 75 juried exhibitors and local artists, along with children’s games and live entertainment; Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 12pm-5pm.

June 18

  • Trumbull Summer Welcome Craft Festival: Free admission at Grace Episcopal Church from 10am-4pm. 
  • 2nd Annual Family Fun Day: This event at the Pilot House features games and activities for kids of all ages! From 12-4pm admission is $15 for children/young adults, and free for parents. Wristbands may be purchased in advance by calling us at 203.292.8452 – or by emailing [email protected].

June 25-26

  • Ridgefield Arts and Crafts Fair:  Hosted in the stunning historical Lounsbury House, 100 crafters will be there with their homemade items for sale, rain or shine.

JULY

July 9-10

  • SOUPSTOCK VII Music and Arts Festival: At Veterans Memorial Park, July 9 – 11am-10pm, and July 10 – 11am-8pm. Enjoy the show and soup/chili for one low price! $15 per day for adult admission at the gate, kids 12 and under are free.

July 9

  • The NICE Festival: NICE Festival Series 2016 will launch at Oyster Shell Park, 12-9pm, with a large multi-cultural festival, hosting dancers, musicians, vendors and local international restaurants, and encouragement to the community to spend the day together. 

July 15-17

  • Bethel Summerfest: A weekend full of festival fun for the entire family with sidewalk sales, a splash area, life size games, vendors and crafts, live music, and more. Friday 6:00pm-8:30pm, Saturday 11:00am-9:00pm, and Sunday 11:00am-2:00pm.

July 15

  • Bethel BeerFest: Part of Berthel Summerfest there will be food trucks and beer. Early Bird Tickets are $25 until July 1st, $30 after and at the door. Premium tickets including early entry to the VIP party, a food ticket and mug are $50 and only a few are available.

July 16

  • 2016 Westport Fine Arts Festival: The festival will include original, juried works in many mediums, all on display along the Saugatuck River in downtown Westport. Live music, special performances, and children’s activities make this a festival for everyone;10am-5pm.
  • Bacon & Brews Festival:  An event for the bacon and brew lover in all of us at the Danbury Green from 3-9pm. Attendees will experience a variety of brew vendors and tasty bacon-inspired dishes while listening to live music from both local and national performers. Tickets are $15 online and $20 at the door.

July 23-24

  • Lock City Comic Con: Fun for the whole family with over 100 exhibitors, celebrity guests, attractions, movie memorabilia and much more at The Italian Center in Stamford, Saturday – 10am- 6pm and Sunday – 10am-5pm.

July 26-27

July 30-31

  • Stamford Art Festival: Exhibits specializing in painting, sculpture, wood, wearable and decorative fiber, metalwork, printmaking, glass, ceramics, and art jewelry. This event will be held rain or shine with free admission and parking; 10am-5pm.
