Start Off Your Thanksgiving on the Right Foot!

Thinking some physical activity would be a great way to kickoff Thanksgiving morning? Thanksgiving Turkey Trots are a great tradition and these family friendly 5K Run/Walk events are abundant in Fairfield County. Whether it’s your first time doing a 5K, or you’re a regular racer, local Turkey Trots are a great way to make active fun a part of your holiday. Be sure to check the weather report before the event and dress in layers. Take a look at the list below and choose your event!

Thanksgiving Day, November 26th

Newtown Turkey Trot: Newtown, CT. Distance: 5K

Note: Must register in advance.

The Great Turkey Escape: Redding, CT. Distance: 5K AND 1K kids run

Note: Registration typically sells out.

Turkey Trot: Ridgefield, CT.  Distance: 5K and ½ mile fun run

Rowayton Turkey Trot: Rowayton, CT.  Distance: 5K and 1 mile family fun run

Thanksgiving Day Road Race: Southport: CT. Distance: 5 Mile Run or 2.6 mile walk

NOTE: Strollers are not permitted in the 5 Mile Run.  Strollers are permitted in the 2.6 Mi Walk.

Stamford, CT: Harbor Point. Distance: 5K

Shippan Turkey Trot: Stamford, CT. Distance: 2.41 miles

Note: Donations for Shelter for the Homeless in lieu of registration fee.

Turkey Day Trot: Stratford, CT. Distance: 5K

Note: Must register in advance. No race day registration.

Commodore Hull Thanksgiving Day Road Race: Shelton, CT: Distance: 5K

Saturday, November 28th

2015 Turkey Trot: Greenwich, CT. Distance: 5K and 1 mile fun run/walk

Run Santa Run! Buddy in Bethel: Bethel, CT.  Distance: 5K
