Special Delivery from Little Pnuts!

A child playing with wooden toys. When given the opportunity to receive and review a toy from Little Pnuts, I jumped at the chance (because we don’t have enough toys already, ha!). Little Pnuts is a unique subscription toy company that sends Special Deliveries of eco-friendly, sustainable, natural, and organic toys to arrive on your Little Pnuts’ doorstep.

I have heard great things about the company that sends you personalized toys for your child’s developmental phase. I already knew that the toys were all specifically chosen for the child’s age and gender, but I did not know much more. I decided to have the shipment sent for my daughter, who was about to turn one year old, as she mostly plays with her brother’s trucks. (While I have absolutely no issue with this, I thought it would be nice for her to have some great, new toys of her own). The shipment arrived on her birthday, but I waited a day to open it since she was already receiving birthday gifts that day.

The first thing I saw was a pamphlet that described the typical developmental milestones for described typicals specific to one-year-olds. The total price of all the toys was $35 more than the $25 subscription fee! There were four toys and one book (and I was thrilled to see a book as reading is NOT one of my daughter’s favorite things to do, much to my dismay).

All the toys are wooden and do not require batteries, which is a fresh departure from many toys available for children. I love how they make children use their imaginations for play instead of having a toy talk to them. There is a place for both types of toys; there is a fresh way to see my daughter engage in imaginative play by herself. Little Pnuts hopes to get children back into imagination, creativity, and play. They want children to get off the couch, step from behind a computer, turn off the television, and find accomplishment in playtime.

This package was specifically geared towards summer and the ocean, which is perfect as both my children are learning about the ocean at daycare this week.

Here is a list of what was included in the package:

  1. Sealife Bath Set from Plan Toys is a sea-shaped toy that is great in and out of the tub. My daughter likes especially to play with them in the baby pool.
  2. Stacking Jack from Hape Toys was my daughter’s favorite of all the toys. It is a stacking toy in the shape of a sailor. She loves putting the different rings on the little pole.
  3. Under the Se Qubes by Hape Toys – These wooden blocks feature different under-sea animals, and my daughter had the most fun putting them in and out of a pitcher. She was using multiple developmental milestones.
  4. Fish Castanets by Plan Toys – These wooden toys are so fun! Both of my children love playing with these and my own special music.
  5. Wiggle by Taro Gomi – This interactive book is for Lily since there is a wiggling finger on each page that she grabs for and laughs at. Again, as she is not the most engaged reader, it is great to have a book she enjoys and will sit still for.

Especially after a week filled with new, loud toys, this delivery was a great way to unplug and allow my children to play quietly and be engaged with safe, long-lasting toys. Even ugh the toys are specifically geared towards a one-year-old girl, my three-year-old son loved them just as much. I think any age or gender would enjoy the toys in the delivery.

I am so happy I had the chance to receive this package from Little Pnuts, and I can’t wait for more to come!

I tried a different (very popular) subscription once before and it was a major disappointment. L would LOVE everything in this Little Pnuts box!

  2. This looks like an awesome box of stuff! I think my girls would love all of these things. Those fish castanets are adorable. And what a value!
