Raising the {Workout} Barre

This post was sponsored by Pure Barre, but the opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting our sponsors.

PureBarrePost2I honestly can’t tell you the last time I was in an actual gym. My knowledge of weight machines and how to use them is limited, so the experience is kind of intimidating to me. I don’t enjoy running and loathe the pattern of running on a treadmill. I’ve never considered myself flexible enough for yoga. I’m not brave enough for Cross Fit or any other type of workout that involves countless Burpees. So when I had the opportunity to work with the ladies of Pure Barre (the kind of barre you won’t have to Uber-it home from!), I jumped at the chance. If you’re not familiar with Pure Barre, you can read my Pure Barre 101 post here.Print

What makes Pure Barre so special and unlike your typical gym? Pure Barre is different. This is a small group fitness class with the feel of a personal training session. The instructors at Pure Barre are top notch. You won’t feel like you’re in a room with anyone else as they call out changes and cheer you on. You always wanted your own personal workout cheerleader, right? The ladies work to help you work your best self and maximize your time at the barre. What’s most important is the changes you’ll see – and quickly! After a month of classes, I am noticeably stronger and more eager to return after each class.

Another benefit to Pure Barre? They have multiple studios in Fairfield County, including Westport, Fairfield, and Darien, with classes offered daily. Classes are held throughout the day. I enjoy the 6:00am class during the week, but if you’re not an early riser, they have classes that start as late as 7:15pm.

Their Barre, Bike, Brunch Wednesdays featured a barre class, bike ride, and brunch. What could be more fun? They’re also hosting Pure Barre Pop Up classes this summer. These are free events, the next one happening Sunday July 31st at 2pm at Bar Taco Westport and then one happening Sunday August 7th at Oyster Shell Park in Norwalk at 10am. In addition, they hold intensive classes that help you really understand the “tuck” concept and get the most from your time in class.

Eager to start tucking at the barre? The Westport, Fairfield, and Darien studios all have new client specials to help you fall in love with Pure Barre. Trust me, you’ll become a Pure Barre addict in no time!
