Founder and Co-Owner

Meet Amy, our founder and co-owner. In addition to Fairfield County Moms Blog, Amy teaches 6th grade at a local middle school. She married her husband Brien in June of 2009 and is mommy to Dean {May 2012} and Tyler {October 2014}. The family lives cozily in their Westport home with two small dogs and one large cat. Amy has lived in Fairfield County her whole life and can’t imagine living anywhere else. Besides spending time at home with her family and spending her school days with 12 year-olds, Amy loves to day dream about traveling across the globe, she’ll read pretty much anything that comes recommended, and is probably the world’s messiest cook. Email Amy at [email protected] or connect on Instagram [email protected]}.

Editor, Co-Owner

Michelle, our editor and co-owner, has spent her entire life in Fairfield County, growing up in Norwalk and now residing in Fairfield. Michelle married her husband Chris in October of 2008. Before motherhood, she thought she was busy, but now life with her son Shane {March 2011}, twins, Blake and Brynn {June 2013}, and Carl the French bulldog, the meaning of hectic has been redefined! Michelle is also a working mom, teaching first and second graders at a local public school. When she’s not changing diapers, creating lesson plans and picking up toys, Michelle enjoys hosting her book club, watching Bravo TV, eating dark chocolate and enjoying an extra large glass of wine. Keira is mom to a precocious toddler, G and wife to her wonderful husband, Joe. She’s a New Yorker trapped in suburbia, but loving every minute. A self-proclaimed “Type-A” she spends her time volunteering, reading voraciously, drinking wine, and working part time in higher education.

Shannon has lived in Fairfield County, CT for most of her life and currently lives in Monroe. She has a daughter L {September, 2008} and a son B {May, 2012}. Shannon balances being a wife and mom with working 186 days out of the year as a special education teacher. Thank goodness for vacations, summer break, and snow days! You can be sure that she fills those days with as many amazing activities and outings that she can think of to make up for the time that she is at work. In a distant life, way before babies, Shannon was an aspiring actress and musician. You can sometimes still find her leading sing-a-longs with her guitar at the kids’ playgroups or at her daughter’s school.

Allison is a New England transplant, originally from Pittsburgh, PA having moved to Bethel in 2010 from Columbus, OH. She and her husband are the parents of a miracle daughter {September 2012.} Allison is a 28 year cancer survivor and spends a great deal of time raising money for the American Cancer Society. She is also an avid baker – she was attempting to open her own bakery of-sorts prior to learning of her pregnancy. When she isn’t playing with her daughter, hosting a fundraiser, running a women’s group, a mom’s group, working on the craft -du-jour or baking, she’s either asleep or wondering what’s next…

Jana is a stay-at-home mom, currently living in Greenwich with her husband, Iain, and daughters, Laila and Nora. Jana is originally from Westchester County, NY, met Iain at college, married in June 2011, welcomed Laila in December 2012, and welcomed Nora in August 2015. On any given day, you can find her playing, reading, or out and about running too many errands and taking advantage of some of the many perks that Greenwich and Fairfield County have to offer.

Alison Bevan

Alison is the staff sleep specialist at The Center For Advanced Pediatrics and has a private practice –  Sleepytime Coach, Sleep Solutions for Babies and Children. She is a Certified Gentle Sleep Coach, Happiest Baby Educator, and member of The International Association of Child Sleep Consultants. Alison lives in Norwalk with her husband Michael and 14 year old son Dylan (who wasn’t always, but is now an excellent sleeper!).

Meet Maria! She’s a full time mom/teacher/wife/daughter who feels pulled in too many directions! Her older son Michael took over 24 hours to be born, and at 6 months old was diagnosed with allergies to dairy, eggs, soy, shrimp and wheat… all after exclusively nursing because she was SO SURE that would help him be a healthy kid. Luckily at age 1, he began to outgrow some of his allergies. Fingers crossed the others will soon follow because that plus a husband who doesn’t eat any veggies and Maria always battling her weight makes for 3 meals to prepare every night. Luckily Christopher, her younger son is a cooperative eater…so far! Unfortunately sleeping, however, is minimal with a baby these days. No wonder she’s so dang tired! It’s a good thing she loves to cook and doesn’t require more than 7 hours of sleep since she often gets far fewer than that. She is addicted to Scandal, Nashville, How to Get Away with Murder, most cooking shows and Jane the Virgin. Most nights she’s content to surf Pinterest and pin way too many crafty pins she will never do.

Julie is a full-time 5th grade teacher, full-time mommy and part-time runner. She grew up in Fairfield County and married her adorably British husband in 2008. They spent a few years down south, got a dog, and returned to CT to raise their family.  A former collegiate tennis player, she loves staying active and finding ways to get outside with her two boys {Oliver – February 2011 and Miles  – October 2013}. When she’s not grading papers, playing racecars, or training for a race, Julie is trying to cook healthy meals for her (picky) family, keep their golden retriever out of trouble, stay organized and save some money to buy a fixer-upper.

Currently wrangling a 5yr old, 3yr old, and 1yr old in New Canaan, Erika does her best to stay sane playing at the park, running with the stroller, looking for more caffeine, browsing at the wine store, and leaning on fellow Mommy friends. Nikki has called wonderful Fairfield County her home, her entire life. Growing up on a campus of a private school in Greenwich, CT Nikki swore to her educator parents that she would never be a teacher. Well life has a way of repeating itself and now Nikki and her amazingly supportive husband are happily working at a different independent school in Greenwich. A recovering “type a” perfectionist she is learning to let go of her color coding, alphabetizing ways and embrace the mess. Helping her enjoy life’s everyday messes are her two precocious girls Sofie (11/15/11) and Keira (9/7/13). Nikki loves all things mommy cliché including but not limited to walks on the beach, running, reality TV, organizing closets, wine, chocolate and having her kids help her out in the kitchen.

Jessica Grutkowski moved to Fairfield County from Brooklyn after the birth of her identical twin girls in 2008. Recently she and her husband Alex launched The Buzz Truck, a mobile coffee truck serving up organic, locally roasted coffee and treats.
