I don’t want to jinx us, but I’ve really been enjoying having no snow on the ground! Regardless, my 2 year old daughter, L, and I have been talking often about all things winter; especially snowmen. Here’s a round-up of a handful of snowman crafts, recipes, books, and toys.
Cotton Snowman Craft
I think this is the quintessential toddler snowman craft, which is why it’s definitely on our to-do list!
Mix and Match Snowman
This printable PDF is full of snowman accessories to color and cut, as well as a snowman to decorate.
Melted Snowman Painting
If you’re feeling brave enough to give your child a paintbrush (and to explain melting snowmen!), this craft is a cute “alternative” snowman that your child can make.
“Build-A-Snowman” Foam Stickers and Foam Ornament Kit
L is obsessed with stickers, and we had a lot of fun with foam sticker crafts for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. She’d love either (or both!) of these kits, and snowmen are the perfect decoration to be used all winter long.
Snowman Pizza
I can’t speak for this recipe, but the idea seems easy, and looks so fun! Of course, you can choose your own toppings (or mix and match) and “accessorize” your snowman to your child’s liking.

Snowmen at Night and Snowmen All Year
We love these books! If you haven’t yet read them, Snowmen at Night tells an imaginative rhyming tale about the “secret lives” of snowmen while we’re sleeping, and Snowmen All Year tells a tale about what fun snowmen would have if they stayed with us for all four seasons.
Snowman Stacker Toy
I swear that Melissa & Doug has thought of everything! We have their rainbow wooden stacker, and it’s held up great after a year and half of daily use. This snowman stacker was too cute not to share.
Snowman Family Kit
Last, but not least, for if/when the snow’s finally here and you’re ready to head outside to really make a snowman, this L.L. Bean set has 26 reusable wooden accessories to make a snow family and pet. Or, check out this less expensive kit (good for one snowman), available at Bed Bath & Beyond.
